nick beats kyle home, though not by much. he's still dicking around with the coffee settings when the other man walks in, squinting at the drip like it holds some kind of secret, though it's quickly abandoned in favour of smiling over at kyle. ]

[ and he still wants to figure out his coffee. he probably shouldn't have messed with the settings, not least of all when he's never known what half the buttons on the damn machine mean in the first place, but he's pushing through all the same. ]
[ Kyle pauses for a moment, watching him with the coffee pot and unable to help himself as he steps in with a chuckle. ]
You know, I'm surprised you haven't worked out a way to just do that with magic. Though it ends up like that Mickey Mouse movie and the house is flooded with coffee and I might be sad... and Cullen will probably be pissed.
[ He can't help but tease him as he steps closer to him, arching a brow. ]
Is it that you flooded my closet with coffee, Mickey?
[ it's not fine, but the machine at least isn't broken, nick has just changed a setting somewhere along the line. he frowns at it a moment longer before leans his hip into the counter, almost empty mug still in his hand as he turns to kyle.
he smiles a little, soft as he thumbs over the ring on his finger. oli's mother's, very sentimental, the sort of thing that no one but nick would really appreciate here, and then he holds his hand up. ]
Oli proposed. In like...a serious way this time, not a joke.

[ In fairness that revelations is nothing that Kyle was expecting. Given the turmoil Kyle went through to even feel he could admit his love without Nick bolting he would have never thought he'd see Nick with a ring on his finger. ]
You wearing the ring kind of makes it obvious it's for real. And that you take it that way.
[ It's stupid how it makes his chest tight. He's only ever wanted Nick to be happy. He thinks Oliver is a great guy. It's not as if Nick, and he, aren't involved with half a dozen others each, or more. Or Kyle had been before half of them vanished from this place. It shouldn't bring up fears of the beginning of the end and he knows it shouldn't. ]
Congrats. I mean that, Nick. I'm glad you're happy. Kind of a shock from you but I'm glad for you.
