[His gift didn't ask for a response, so receiving one in as personal a form as a handwritten letter is a welcome surprise.]
Kyle,
Monopolize away; I've been wanting to spend more time together, too. I like the idea of the beach bonfire. I can dance, but I couldn't guarantee I'd be able to spare your toes along the way. It's been a while for me.
Additionally, if there comes another time when I can do something like this or anything else to help, know that I want to.
[ There's something about sending letters like this, especially with Charles, that Kyle finds he likes. Not only because of the thoughts of having them should they ever lose one another here. So much of all he has is pictures on his device and network posts... and a wall of plants. ]
Charles,
Perfect. I'll get things set up and maybe we can work out out schedules for day after next? If that's not too soon?
To have you in my arms would be worth the healing from a few stepped on toes, but a bonfire and together works perfectly for me. I wouldn't go in the water here, but the beach and the night sky here is beautiful.
You may come to regret that, but I'm going to take you up on it. Hopefully I'll see you soon outside of work.
[Kyle's seemingly effortless romance has a way of melting him unexpectedly. It's fine, because all of these letters are being read within the comfortable privacy of his office.
Charles' next letter has included with it a charmingly humorous pocket square that both reminds him of Kyle's beach house, and seems like something the other vampire would like. It's boldly (per Edwardian courting maxims, which is the last time Charles pursued anyone, but he has a feeling it's safe to assume someone born after the 1980s won't find it as aggressive a touch as his ex-wife's mother and father would have) scented with a touch of his cologne.]
Kyle,
I'll see you the day after next. If I remember the Haven shift schedule correctly, that should work for us both.
This will be my first bonfire seen under good circumstances, admittedly. It'll be a worthy one, to see it with you.
Warmly,
Charles

The pocket square not only amuses Kyle but it carries with it a scent that is distinctively Charles and that leaves him spending a moment with his eyes closed and just letting the scent envelope him.
Maybe a scent alone shouldn't do that much to him, but he doesn't care. It makes him think instantly of Charles and that means a lot to him.
Charles,
Thank you for the gift. I love it. Remind me to tell you the story of Jeff, if I haven't already, and the shark in my pool.
I can't wait to see you then. I know we see one another often, but this feels different and I'm excited for it. I'll see you then.
