My name is Diego Brando. We spoke earlier this month, although you weren't aware of who you were speaking to at the time, because the post was an anonymous inquiry about people's experiences with death.
I'm contacting you now because there's something I'd like to ask you about, and it's something that could involve Haven.
In my conversation with Rip, the idea of a support group for people who have dealt with particularly traumatic deaths was brought up. I doubt this is the sort of thing you had in mind when you said I could contact you, but I figured I should at least ask if it's something that could be organized by the hospital.
[ Given what they had asked about, this isn't surprising to learn they've been through but he can't help but think that this is something they should have considered before as well. ]
Given some of the things that people go through here, not to mention their own worlds, that isn't a bad idea. Could probably help me as well.
Could especially be helpful to those that have been through it back home.
[ Here in Duplicity it was awful. Back home meant dealing with something else entirely while in this place... knowing what waits for you. Or more importantly, and worse, what doesn't. ]
It would be beneficial to a good deal of people here, I imagine.
Admittedly this sort of thing isn't something I have any experience with, nor am I the most compassionate of people, so I don't know if I can offer much beyond simply bringing up the idea as a suggestion.
I suspect it would be, and something I don't think we've thought too much on in just getting through our days sometimes but that doesn't mean neglecting others.
When we get things moving on this, you would attend though right? Even if I will say that suggesting this is a huge step in my book. My only death back home, I was saved by abilities no one in my world should have had, but it still is something I know I carry with me.
Even in this world with all we have together, those that can bring people back from the dead or close to it, are few and far between. Especially without a price paid that could be worse.
I can save almost any life, but it risks them ending up like I am. I'm not prepared to do that to anyone.
We have the space for it though, and I may look into having someone who is skilled in these things on hand for mediating things. Even if the irony of a vampire doctor who is more or less undead leading such meetings isn't wasted on me.

I'm curious then. Did you want to talk through the devices or meet in person?

There were very few people around when I died, and none of them had any sort of ability that would have saved me.

That's good to hear. Hopefully you'll be able to find someone to help with mediation. Considering the subject matter, we'll definitely need it.
